The main responsibilities are as follows:

1.Responsible for establishing and improving regulations and policies concerning school laboratories and equipment management, conscientiously organizing and implementing supervision and inspection, guiding and coordinating the laboratories construction and the property management of equipment for teaching and scientific researches.

2. Responsible for organizing relevant faculties and departments to formulate laboratory development schemes and annual implementation plans, promoting the reform of laboratory systems and mechanisms, and advancing the laboratory work.

3. Organizing and carrying out the review, approval and report for the planning, configuration, coordination and disposal of school equipment property.

4. Responsible for the authorization, follow-up management, summary and acceptance of projects for experiment teaching reform and construction, as well as the evaluation and award of experiment technological achievements.

5. Responsible for the database management and informationization of school laboratories, equipment, consumables and property; carrying out dynamic management of equipment property, including accounting management, property rights registration and statistical report of instruments and low-value consumables (durables).

6. Responsible for the daily management of the registration, alteration and property disposal of the instrument and equipment property.

7. Responsible for organizing and reviewing the configuration scheme of laboratory instruments and equipment, managing the funds and implementing the budget of school teaching and experiment.

8. Responsible for the procurement management of school equipment and the review of procurement contracts, and assisting in equipment bid and procurement .

9. Responsible for the approval, customs declaration, duty exemption, delivery and inspection of imported instruments.

10. Responsible for the acceptance, accounting, allocation, scrapping and disposal of equipment for teaching, research and administration.

11. Responsible for the distribution and review of undergraduates teaching experiment materials, in addition to the procurement, configuration, updating and maintenance of field practice equipment, as well as the distribution of labor protection supplies.

12. Responsible for the authorization and evaluation of the procurement of large-scale instruments; implementing the management of large-scale instruments; promoting the proper use of school resources, and continuously improving their utilization and efficiency.

13. Responsible for maintaining the work of qualification certification of Wuhan Center of Surveillance, Inspection and Testing of the Environment and Resources, Ministry of Land Resources.

14. Responsible for the establishment of teaching laboratories and the training of experiment technicians; assisting in the inspection and evaluation of experiment teaching and management.

15. Responsible for the establishment of laboratory safety regulations, safety training of laboratory technicians, and disposal of "three wastes" in the laboratory.

16. Responsible for the propaganda and supervision of technical safety and environmental protection in the laboratory.

17. To accomplish other tasks assigned by superior departments and the university.
